Services for Ethel S. Lundy will be held Saturday, September 28, 2019 at 2 p.m. at McClain-Hays Chapel with Hunter Lundy officiating. Burial will follow in Cedarlawn Cemetery. Visitation will be held Saturday, September 28, 2019 at 12 noon until service time at McClain-Hays Funeral Home. McClain-Hays Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Lundy, 102 years and 11 months, died Saturday, September 21, 2019. Mrs. Lundy was a native and longtime resident of Neshoba County and a graduate of Linwood High School. She began her career by working for Newberry’s in Meridian for 3 years, then worked in Philadelphia at Handelman’s Department Store for 2 years, Walker Chains Five and Dime for a few years, Stubbs Department Store for three years, Mars Brothers Department Store for 25 to 30 years, and then worked for Dees Department Store. After her husband Bobby died she went to MSCW (Mississippi State College for Women) to work as a Social Adviser and worked for 12 years at Kincannon and Calloway Dorms. Mrs. Lundy was a longtime member of First Baptist Church in Philadelphia. Survivors include her sons, Bobby Joe Lundy of Lake Charles, LA, and William H. “Bill” Lundy (Connie) of Conway, AR; nine grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren; brother, George Saxon (Sue) of Philadelphia; daughter-in-law, Barbara Lundy of Gray, GA; and a host of nieces and nephews. Mrs. Lundy was preceded in death by her husband, Robert E. “Bobby” Lundy; son, Charles Edward Lundy; seven brothers and sisters.
