Services will be held Saturday, April 29, 2023, at 6:00 p.m. from McClain-Hays Chapel with Bro. Arthur Rhodes and Bro. Michael Wells officiating. Visitation will be Saturday from 4:00 p.m. until time of service at McClain-Hays Funeral Home. Mrs. Stokes, 74, of Union, died Wednesday, April 26, 2023, at her home. She was a native and longtime resident of the Linwood Community in Neshoba County. A retired registered nurse, she formerly worked at Riley Hospital in Meridian, and later at Laird Hospital in Union. She was a member of American Legion Ladies Auxiliary and Republican Women of Neshoba County. Mrs. Stokes attended Crossway Community Church. Survivors include son, Tim Watkins (Lisa) of Philadelphia; six grandchildren, Katie Kemp (Colby), Shelby Anthony, Whitney Wilson (Lance), Eli Watkins, Dreux-Anna Watkins and Bo Watkins; four great-grandchildren, Addyson Alford, Jacy Blair Alford, Jon Mason Kemp, And Greyson Kemp; sisters, Ruth Conn, Sarah Peebles, Kay Vance, Nancy Nicholson; numerous nieces, nephews, and their families. Preceding Mrs. Stokes in death were her husband, David Stokes; parents, Frank and Mary McNair; sister, Mary Rhodes; and brothers, Robert and Ray McNair.
