Emma Sue Stuart Nowell

A memorial service will be held by family in Texas at a later date. Mrs. Nowell, 90, of Philadelphia, died Friday, March 24, 2023, at her home. Emma Sue Stuart Nowell was a current resident of Philadelphia, MS. She was a loving and supportive wife to Lester Billy Nowell, Sr., a caring, nurturing and loving mother; and an awesome and forgiving grandmother and great-grandmother. Survivors include son, Billy Nowell, Jr., (Tracy); daughter, Debbie Nowell Martin (Jerry); granddaughters, Erin Nicole Hoelscher Martinez (Zeke Martinez III) and Michelle Carruth; great-grandchildren, Harlee Marie Hoelscher, Mason Wayne Hoelscher, Levi Layne Hoelscher, Charlie, Penelope and Stevie Carruth; sisters, Ana Lou Crosby, Wanda Sharpe, Betty Kilgore, Martha Ashley, Joan Vines, Frances Hollingsworth; sister-in-law, Ollie Stuart, numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. Mrs. Nowell was preceded in death by husband, Lester Billy Nowell, Sr., grandson, Nicholas Aaron Hoelscher; parents, Leonard and Fairy Stuart; brother, LaDon Stuart; and nephew, Leonard Stuart.
