Services for Mr. Eirtis S. Chamblee will be held Tuesday, December 1, 2020 at 2 p.m. from McClain-Hays Chapel with Rev. Greg Lathem and Rev. Kevin Vaughn officiating. Burial will follow in New Harmony Cemetery. Visitation will be held Tuesday, December 1, 2020 at 12 noon until service time at McClain- Hays Funeral Home. Mask wearing is requested for visitation and service. McClain-Hays Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Mr. Chamblee, 97, of Philadelphia, died Saturday, November 28, 2020 at the Neshoba County Nursing Home. Eirtis was a lifelong resident of the Waldo Community of Neshoba County, a graduate of Coldwater High School, served in The United States Army in World War II and received an Honorable Discharge on February 14, 1946 after 3 years of service. He retired from Wells Lamont after 40 plus years and was a longtime farmer. Mr. Chamblee was a lifelong member of New Harmony Baptist Church where he served as deacon and treasurer for 65 years. He was a son, husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. Survivors include his wife of 77 wonderful years, Juanita Goldman Chamblee; two sons, Gary (Charlotte) Chamblee and Randy (Missy) Chamblee all of Philadelphia; daughter, Deborah Myers of Brandon; nine grandchildren; seven grandchildren in-laws; 15 great-grandchildren; sister, Creasy (Willie Hays) Richardson of Philadelphia; and a host of nieces, nephews, and their families. Mr. Chamblee was preceded in death by his son, Aaron Kent Chamblee; granddaughter, Amanda “Mandy” Chamblee; parents, Charlie and Mae Porter Chamblee; brothers, Alvin, Castle, Virtis Chamblee and sister Addie Lee Chamblee Hardy White. Pallbearers are Kevin Chamblee, Joel Chamblee, Aaron Kent Chamblee II, Joshua Chamblee, Wyatt McCann, Brady Pope, Caden Tucker and Langston Tucker. Honorary pallbearers are Mason Pope, Colton Chamblee and Aaron Kent Chamblee III.
