Funeral services for Effie K. Eldridge will be held Wednesday, April 26, 2023 at 4:30 p.m. from McClain-Hays Chapel with Rev. Len Wedgeworth officiating. Burial will follow in Golden Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be held Wednesday, April 26, 2023 from 3 p.m. until service time at McClain-Hays Funeral Home. Effie Eldridge, 89, passed away peacefully on April 23, 2023, following a short illness. She was born in Neshoba County, Mississippi, on July 24, 1933, the daughter of Robert and Effie Kilpatrick. Mrs. Eldridge was a native of Neshoba County. She lived in Rolling Fork, MS for 30 years before returning to Neshoba County. Mrs. Eldridge was a retired Registered Nurse who worked in hospitals and for the Mississippi Department of Health. She enjoyed working outdoors especially with her husband of 66 years, Arvis Eldridge. She attended Crossroads Baptist Church. Mrs. Eldridge is survived by her daughters, Amy Nixon of Evergreen, CO, Renee’ Proctor (Thomas) of Trenton, TN; 7 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; a sister, Jo Beth Tolbert of Philadelphia, MS; and numerous nieces, nephews, and their families. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Arvis Eldridge; son, Robert Eldridge; and numerous siblings. Pallbearers are Kevin Belk, Jessen Fahey, Jeff Henderson, Garrett Posey, Michael Reynolds, Mark Rickles, Chauncey West, and Max West. Honorary pallbearers are Tommy Belk, Billy Butler, and Willis Harrington.
