Earvin L. Sims

A graveside service will be held Sunday, November 22, 2020, at 2:00 p.m. from Eastlawn Cemetery with Rev. Dennis Duvall and Rev. Billy James officiating. McClain-Hays Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Mr. Sims, 89, of Philadelphia, died Friday, November 20, 2020, at Neshoba County Nursing Home. A native and lifelong resident of Neshoba County, he worked as Street Foreman for the City of Philadelphia for 36 years until his retirement. He served in the U. S. Army in Korea. Mr. Sims was a member of Bethsaida Baptist Church and loved to go on mission trips with the kids when he was a member of Grace Baptist Church. Survivors include two daughters, Glenda (Ralph) White of Philadelphia and Darlene (Marty) Sistrunk of Philadelphia; five grandchildren, Ryan White, Wendy (Jessica) White, Christy (Don) Barrett, Nathan (Laura) Sistrunk, Angie (Brett) Coward; great-grandchildren, Aspen and Reece White, Avanni, Joaquin and Raffi White, Mallory (Webb) Hamilton; John Rylee and Lily Carsyn Barrett; Anna, Talbott and Kirkland Sistrunk; Lauren, Landon and Layton Coward; numerous nieces, nephews and their families. Mr. Sims was preceded in death by wife, Dot Sims; parents, David Sims and Lena Sims Williamson; six brothers and sisters. Pallbearers are Ryan White, Don Barrett, Nathan Sistrunk, John Rylee Barrett, Reece White, Webb Hamilton and Tom Barnett.
