He graduated from the Mississippi School for the Deaf, a school that leaves an enduring legacy, and a place that he held very dear to his heart. Durwood deeply adored and admired his loving wife of 63 years, Sue. He cherished spending time with his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. He was a passionate fan of Ole Miss football and enjoyed watching games with his loved ones. He is survived by his loving wife, Nellie Sue Goldman; daughter, Sandra Goldman Edwards (Clayton); daughter-in-law, Kimberly Goldman; grandchildren, Brittany, Lauren, Blake, Brook, Dillon, Allie, and Caleb; and great-grandchildren, Keifer, Levi, Kolton, Lily, Penny, Kash, Tripp, Ryland, Macie, Aubrie, Swazy, MaKenna, and Mayne; sister, Geraldine Goldman Boyles and several nieces, nephews and their families. Durwood was preceded in death by his parents, Irby Colquett Goldman and Martele Moore Goldman Griffin; brother, Irby Rudone Goldman; daughter, Shannon Leigh Johnson; and son, Gregory Wayne Goldman. Pallbearers will be Caleb Edwards, Blake Goldman, Dillon Johnson, Todd Davis, Matt Gordon and Kaleb Hager. The family has requested that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the American Society for Deaf Children in Durwood's memory.
