A private graveside memorial will be held at a later date. Douglas Max Dean, age 72, of Union, MS departed this life December 30, 2023. Born September 02, 1951, Max lived most of his life in Neshoba County. After graduating Union High School in 1969 he continued his education at MS State where he graduated with a degree in petroleum engineering. Max worked in the Louisiana Oil industry before joining the MS Department of Transportation in 1988, as a project engineer. He retired MDOT in 2015, and spent the rest of his life enjoying riding motorcycles, attending bike rallies, spending time with family and friends, and caring for his pets. Survivors include one brother, Jimmy Dean, sister-in-law Denise Dean, three nephews: Matthew, Tanner, and Peyton Dean, two nieces: Leslie Campbell (Jacob) and Kasye Keiss. Four great nieces and two great nephews. Max was proceeded in death by parents, Sermon Lavell Dean and Frances Jeanette (Harris) Dean, and two infant brothers. Paternal grandparents, Lee Roy Dean and Velma (Wilkerson) Dean. Maternal grandparents, Holly Irvin Harris and Agnes (Knight) Harris. Max was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by his immediate family, BMW (Airheads) biking family, and a host of friends.
