Services for Mrs. Dorothy Smith will be held at 2:00 pm , Wednesday, November 9, 2022 at New County Line Baptist Church. Interment will be held in the Church Cemetery. Sister Clara Moore will officiate. Visitation will be held from 1:00pm until service time on Wednesday at the church. Mrs. Dorothy Smith, 86, of Carthage died on November 6, 2022 at Choctaw Residential Center. Mrs. Dorothy was a native and lifelong resident of Leake County. She graduated from Edinburg High School in 1954. She enjoyed cooking, gardening and working outside, especially in her yard. She loved spending time with her family and friends. She is survived by her husband of 68 years, Tommy Smith of Carthage; daughter, Susan Smith of Carthage; grandchildren, Brad Pigg and Amy Pigg; great-grandchildren, Abbye Pigg, Marlee Mooney and Mazzey Neese; sister, Deborah Ray Wilcher of Carthage; several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, Percy and Velma Ray; brother, Kenneth Ray.
