Graveside services for Doris Julia Bradley will be held at Hope Cemetery Wednesday, July 12, 2023 at 1 p.m. with Rev. Mike Sims officiating. Our precious mother and loving grandmother passed on to Glory on July 7, 2023 at the age of 97. It was a peaceful transition at the home of her daughter, Teresa. Doris was born on November 4, 1925 at Hope to John W. and Carrie Moore. Ms. Bradley was a faithful and lifelong member of Hope Methodist Church. Doris graduated from Baptist Hospital in Jackson in 1945 as an RN and moved to Miami to work at Northshore Hospital after marrying her Navy sweetheart. She was a faithful Methodist who sang in the choir, nurturing mother, loving daughter and devoted wife. Hard work ingenuity and creativity were her special attributes. She loved being the pianist at her church in Philadelphia, but loved her cats more than black eyed peas and cornbread. She led a blessed life and believed her life as a child growing up was “better” than the younger generations growing up today. Her humble heart was filled with joy growing flowers, gardening, spending endless hours chatting with Dad, working crossword puzzles and laughing at life. She was the greater generation! Survivors include her daughter, Teresa Nieves of Davie, FL; her grandchildren live in FL, Jennifer married to Chris and Angel, Jr. married to Cinthia; her great-grandchildren noted by eldest in age include, Julia, Casey, and Kyla Cunningham, “Chisel”, “Hoop”, and “Aaron” Nieves. Ms. Bradley was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Rodney; and her son, Rodger.
