Memorial Service's will be held on Sunday, February 16, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. from McClain-Hays Chapel with Rev. Bobby Cumberland and Dr. Wayne Hill officiating. Visitation will be held on Sunday, February 16, 2025 from 12:30 p.m. until service time at McClain-Hays.
David Richard Parker, age 65, of Philadelphia, MS., passed away peacefully at his home.
David, known as "Papaw" was born May 31, 1959 in Philadelphia, MS. to George Walton and Voncille Thomas Parker. He attended Philadelphia High School and then began his career in the family construction business. David worked in construction until his retirement. He was a Shriner for several years and is still active in the Mason's. He attended and loved Cedar Hill Baptist Church. David deeply loved his family and cherished every moment spent with them. One of the brightest spot's in is life was attending his grandchildren's ballgames and competitions. David was a Christian man who will be greatly missed by his family, friends and community.
"Papaw" is survived by his wife of 45 years, Cynthia Dunn Parker. Sons; Chance Parker (Kimberly) of Madison. MS,. Jordan Parker (Haylee) of Florence, MS. 5, grandchildren; Easton, Everleigh, Arianna and Serenity Parker of Madison, MS., and David Tate Parker of Florence, MS. Sister; Barbara McRae (JD) of San Antonio, TX. Also, a host of nieces, nephews and their families.
Honorary pallbearers are Jeff Smith, Ron Sumrall, Randy Watkins, Kirk Blaine, Thomas Staats, Ellis Dunn, Brian Thomas, Mitchell Dunn, Cary Ray Moore, Andy Carrol, Stacy Boatner, Ricky Hartness, Greg Sisson and George Irvin Wilson.
In lieu of flowers family has requested all memorials be made to Cedar Hill Baptist Church.
