David Curtis

Funeral services for David Curtis will be held Monday, September 20, 2021 at 1 p.m. from McClain-Hays Chapel with Rev. Jeff Brewer and Rev. Mark Cloys officiating. Burial will follow in Eastlawn Cemetery. Visitation will be held Monday, September 20, 2021 from 11 a.m. until service time at McClain-Hays Funeral Home. McClain-Hays Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Mr. Curtis, 86, of Philadelphia, died Friday, September 17, 2021 at his residence. He was a native of French Camp, Ms and graduated from French Camp Academy. He served in the United States Navy and attended Hinds Junior College. He worked in the office Supply business for 42 years and was co-owner of Curtis Office Supply for 22 years until his retirement in 2005. Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Janie Moorhead Curtis of Philadelphia; daughter, Vicki Curtis of Philadelphia; brother’s-in-law, Arlis Godfrey (Mary) of Kosciusko and Wayne Moorhead (Lou) of Denham Springs, LA; four nephews and one niece. Mr. Curtis was preceded in death by his parents Wyatt and Louise Curtis; brother, Edwin Curtis; sisters, Annie Jo Godfrey and Dora Bess Steffler. Pallbearers are Don Crawford, Jerry Brantley, Wayne Goldman, Terry Godfrey, Kent Warren and Brad Copeland. Honorary Pallbearers are East Philadelphia Baptist men’s No. 1 Sunday school Class. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials be made to East Philadelphia Baptist Church or your favorite charity.
