D. R. Manning

Funeral services for D. R. Manning will be held Wednesday, February 2, 2022, at 12:30 p.m. from McClain-Hays Chapel with Rev. Larry Harvey officiating. Burial will follow at Mars Hill Cemetery in Winston County. Visitation will be Wednesday from 11:00 a.m. until time of service. McClain-Hays Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Mr. Manning, 80, of Philadelphia, died Saturday, January 29, 2022, at Baptist Medical Center in Jackson. A native of Neshoba County, he was a longtime resident of Greenville, MS. He was employed in the gas pipeline construction/maintenance industry as a welder/ foreman and moved back to Neshoba County after retirement. He loved to hunt and fish. Mr. Manning was a member of Ebenezer Baptist Church in Attala County. Survivors include his wife, Genoise Manning of Philadelphia; daughter, Denise Nassar (Jeff) of Searcy, AR; sons, Ray Manning (Kathy) and Rex Manning (Tina), both of Leland, MS; six grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, and extended family. Mr. Manning was preceded in death by parents, Joseph and Audie Manning; brothers, Curtis, Coy, and Rupert Manning. In lieu of flowers, family requests memorials be made to Ebenezer Baptist Church, Attn: Carol Thrasher, 8608 Attala Rd. 5015, Ethel, MS 39067, or a favorite charity.
