Chris Boatner

Services will be held from McClain-Hays Chapel at 2 p.m. on Saturday June 10, 2023, with Rev. Scotty Boatner officiating. Interment will follow in Mars Hill Cemetery (Winston County). Visitation will be held on Friday June 9, 2023, from 6-9 p.m. at McClain-Hays Funeral Home. Mr. Boatner, 56, of Philadelphia, MS, died Wednesday, June 7, 2023. Chris was a native and a longtime resident of Plattsburg Community of Winston County. He was a farmer, a truck driver, and worked in construction throughout his life. Chris was a member of West Philadelphia Baptist Church. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spending time with his family. Survivors include his wife, Angela Boatner of Philadelphia; daughter, Jessie Palmer (Shaun) of Louisville; son, Jake Boatner (Brianna) of Philadelphia; grandchildren, Lucy Palmer, Lucas Boatner, Colton Boatner; father, Rev. Lavon Boatner of Philadelphia; brother, Scotty Boatner (Kari) of Philadelphia; several nieces, nephews and their families. Mr. Chris was preceded in death by his mother Bonnie Boatner.
