Charlotte Tullos

Services for Ms. Charlotte Tullos will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, June 15, 2022 at McClain-Hays Chapel with Dr. Dan Howard to officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to service on Wednesday at McClain- Hays Chapel. Ginger Charlotte (nee' Welsh) Tullos made her debut into the world on October 4, 1940, in Philadelphia, upstairs in the Yates Hospital on the Court Square. Charlotte called Philadelphia home for many years, with living in Neshoba County being bookends during the formative years and retirement years of her long and eventful life. Throughout her career, Charlotte resided in a number of various major cities in the Southeast, including the Atlanta, Georgia, area, New Orleans, Louisiana, and Tallahassee, Florida, among other locals. Charlotte enjoyed many skills, such as home construction and renovation and painting. A highly energetic woman with keen interests in world events and places of fascination, as well as a pointed ability to express herself freely that she inherited from her mother Bobby Welsh, Charlotte was famous among her many friends for her sincerity and charm, her biting wit, her wicked and contagious laughter, and her love that she conveyed to others as only she could. Charlotte enjoyed traveling far and near, fishing in her boat, collecting rocks, and caring for her many friends in the animal kingdom. As a naturist and anglophile, Charlotte enjoyed traveling to England, Portugal and Spain among other popular European destinations; she was an avid reader, lover of music, a life-long smitten fan of Elvis Presley, and a much-adored mother to her cats Yeller and Speckles. Charlotte was an inspired caretaker of the many birds, raccoons, and other creatures that came to enjoy their daily meals and fresh water on her back porch. She was an affectionate friend and protector of wildlife. Charlotte was preceded in death by her mother and father, Bobby Ruth Welsh and Sam Welsh. Survivors include her cousin Ms. Ann McGowin of Aldersgate, Meridian, Mississippi, and special friends, John and Carol Perry of Tallahassee, Florida, Jack Sullivan of Neshoba County, Mississippi, Wanda Waddell of Dallas, Texas, and the children of the late Ms. Jean Cumberland of Philadelphia, Mississippi.
