Services for Charles Niles Yates will be held Tuesday, December 17, 2019, at 2:00 p. m. from McClain-Hays Chapel with Dr. Dan Howard officiating.   Burial will follow in Cedarlawn Cemetery.  Visitation will be held Tuesday from 12:00 noon until time of service at McClain-Hays Funeral Home.  McClain-Hays Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Mr. Yates, 92, of Philadelphia, died Friday, December 13, 2019, at Neshoba County Nursing Home.  He was a native and longtime resident of Philadelphia, MS.  He retired as an independent milk distributor for Pet Milk Company and later Flav-O-Rich Milk for numerous years.  Mr. Yates was a lifelong member of First Baptist Church in Philadelphia where he had participated in all activities through the years.  He was a veteran of the U. S. Navy serving during the Korean War. Survivors include daughter, Laura Yates Lamb (Brian) of Brandon, MS; sons, Stan Yates (Debra) of Philadelphia, MS, Chris Yates (Jan) of Birmingham, AL; eleven grandchildren; and numerous great-grand-children and great-great-grandchildren; sister, Ouida Moore (Ed) of Chattanooga, TN; and several nieces, nephews and their families. Mr. Yates was preceded in death by wife, Jean; son, Bill Yates; parents, Earl and Jessie Mae Yates; brother, Earl Clyde Yates, Jr., and daughter-in-law, Debbie H. Yates. Pallbearers are Brian Lamb, Jared Yates, Jesse Yates, Elliot Yates, Kyle Acker and Chris Owen. In lieu of flowers, family requests memorials be made to childcare ministries, First Baptist Church of Philadelphia, or your favorite charity.
