Carolyn Vance

Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 25, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. from McClain-Hays Chapel with Bro. David Richardson officiating. Burial will follow in Mars Hill Cemetery in Winston County. Visitation will be on Friday, February 24, 2023, from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. at McClain-Hays Funeral Home. Mrs. Vance, 61, of Philadelphia, died Wednesday, February 22, 2023, at University Medical Center. She was born and raised in Neshoba County and had lived there all her life. She attended Neshoba Central schools; and was employed at Silver Star Casino for a number of years. She loved to fish and sew; and dearly loved her family. Mrs. Vance was of Christian faith. Survivors include sister, Marie May; grandson, Skylor Hines, stepdaughter, Janet Vance, all of Philadelphia, MS; and a host of nieces, nephews and their families. Mrs. Vance was preceded in death by her husband, Horace Vance; stepdaughter, Nancy Hines; sister, Geanette Monk; brothers, Robert “Bob” Fortenberry, Hulbert Fortenberry, William Fortenberry, and Junior Fortenberry; parents, Robert and Elizabeth Fortenberry. Pallbearers are Ethan Kinard, Tanner McGee, Christopher Fortenberry, T. J. Fortenberry, Eddie Fortenberry, and Roger Vance. Honorary pallbearer is Jr. Vance.
