Funeral services for Carolyn E. Daniels will be held on Saturday, February 15, 2025, at 2 p.m. from McClain-Hays Chapel with Rev. Lawrence Pool officiating. Interment will follow in North Bend Methodist Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Saturday, February 15, 2025, from 12 p.m. until service time at McClain-Hays Funeral Service.
Mrs. Daniels spent her formative years in Marseilles, Illinois, before moving to Neshoba County in 1972. She dedicated several years serving as an assistant teacher at Neshoba Central Elementary School, after which she enjoyed a fulfilling 20-year career at The Citizens Bank, where she ultimately retired. As a devoted pastor's wife at Dry Creek Baptist Church, she made a meaningful impact in the community over her 29 years of membership. Carolyn had a passion for crafts, gardening, and cooking, but above all, she cherished her role as a homemaker, nurturing her beloved family.
She is survived by her husband of 27 years, Rev. Vernell Daniels of Philadelphia; her daughters, Ellie (Joe) Mitchell, Tina (Steve) Seale, Jami (Robert) O'Quin, and her son, Lester Close; stepdaughter, Lori Weatherford; stepsons, Jimmy Daniels and Stan (Lisa) Daniels; as well as her grandchildren, Jeffrey Mitchell, Jaclyn (Jesse) Nelson, Miriam and Abby Seale, Victoria O’Quin, John (Haley) O’Quin, Kayla (Jason) Vance, Kelly (Chris) Kelley, 7 great-grandchildren; sisters, Ruth (Roger) Close and Harriet (Tom) Clark and sister-in-law Lois Drackley. Additionally, she is remembered by a multitude of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Roger and Viola Drackley; her daughter, Julie Darm; and her brothers, Richard and Charles Drackley.
Pallbearers are Brad Copeland, Michael Ted Evans, Steve Seale, Robert O,Quin, Roy Taylor and Steve Triplett.
