Carolyn Majure Dearman

Graveside services for  Carolyn Dearman will be 11:30 a.m., Wednesday, January 8, 2025 at Cedarlawn Cemetery with Dr. Dan Howard officiating. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, January 8, 2025 until departure time at McClain-Hays.

Carolyn Majure Dearman, 91, of Fort Walton Beach, Florida, passed away peacefully at Bay Port Assisted Living in Fort Walton Beach with her daughter by her side.

Carolyn was born in Madden, MS and grew up in Neshoba County, at Philadelphia High School she held the honors of Miss PHS, head cheerleader and all state basketball player. Carolyn attended MUW and graduated MSU with a degree in Elementary Education. She taught school in DeKalb County, Georgia several years before returning to Philadelphia. This is where she met the love of her life, Stanley Dearman, and they shared 42 years of wedded bliss until his death in 2017. During their marriage she assisted him at the Neshoba Democrat as Advertising Manager. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Philadelphia.

Carolyn leaves behind her daughter, Lisa Daniels, Fort Walton Beach Florida; Her son Leigh (Debbie) Barrett; Grandchildren, Curtis (Elise) Barrett, Travis Barrett, Dana Daniels-Bowen (Michael), Nick Daniels; great - grandchildren, Mason, Maggie, Julia, Jagger, Heidi, Amelia, and Fiona; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Stanley Dearman; her parents, Herbert and Dollie Parkes Majure; her brothers, Dewitt Majure and Harlan Majure; a daughter, Leslie Carol Barrett; and granddaughter, Andra K. Daniels.

The family wishes to thank Bay Port Assisted Living/Memory Care and Gentiva Hospice for the kindness and special care they provided for our “Granny.”

Pallbearers will be Travis Barrett, Curtis Barrett, Mason Daniels, Garry Myers, David Byars and Sid Williams.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Baptist Church of Philadelphia, MS or the Charity of your choice.
