RICKY PEEBLES Mrs. Nicholson, 95, of Philadelphia, died Tuesday, November 7, 2017, at her home. A native and longtime resident of Neshoba County, she formerly worked at A & P Grocery and Yates Drug Store in Philadelphia. She worked in the lunchroom and drove a school bus for Deemer School, and also worked in the commissary at DeWeese Lumber Company. Her greatest joy in life was being a homemaker, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and serving her Lord and church. Mrs. Nicholson was a charter member of North Calvary Baptist Church in Philadelphia. Survivors include daughters, Jeanie Maddox (Bill) of Fort Smith, AR, and Charlinda Anderson (Jimmy) of Philadelphia; son, Bill Nicholson (Nancy) of Philadelphia; sister, Pat Herklotz (Don) of Ardmore, OK; grandchildren, Eric Nicholson, Todd Berry, Melissa Berry, Kimberly Jones, Ashley McLain (Brian); Reid Maddox, Jennifer Jenkins (Jerry), Valarie Copeland (Chris), Nick Anderson (Faith), and Angela Smith (Cody); great-grandchildren, Cole Freeman, Caleb Freeman, Porter Jones, Ava Jones, Ethan Maddox, Kendall Maddox, Joshua Jenkins, Jordan Jenkins, Victoria Copeland, Anna Copeland, Jacob Copeland, Hanah Anderson, Austin Anderson, Hallie Anderson, Maciey Smith, Zoey Smith and Izabella Smith; and next month was expecting the birth of her first great-great grandchild; special extended family/caregivers, Peggy and Dewayne Stevens; special friend, Janet Gaynor of Memphis, TN; several nieces, nephews and their families. Mrs. Nicholson was preceded in death by her husband, Johnnie J. Nicholson; mother, Hattye Gretton; father, J. M. Pruitt; four brothers; and two sisters. Pallbearers are Bill Pruitt, Bob Pruitt, Nick Anderson, Dewayne Stevens, John Pruitt, David Pruitt, Chris Copeland and Cody Smith. Honorary pallbearers are Jacob Copeland, Cole Freeman, Caleb Freeman, Porter Jones, Austin Anderson, Eric Nicholson, Todd Berry, Reid Maddox, Jordan Jenkins, Joshua Jenkins, Ethan Maddox, Bryan Glenn and Jason Savell.
