Services for Billy J. Pinter will be held Saturday, March 23, 2019, at 1:00 p.m. from McClain-Hays Chapel with Rev. Rusty Walton and Rev. Hal Hall officiating. Burial will follow in the Wheatfield Cemetery in Neshoba County. Visitation will be held Saturday from 10 a.m. until time of service at McClain-Hays Funeral Home. McClain-Hays Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Mr. Pinter, 88, of Philadelphia, died Tuesday, March 19, 2019, at Princeton Baptist Medical Center in Birmingham, AL. He was a native and longtime resident of the Dixon Community in Neshoba County. He was a graduate of Dixon School, where he was a star basketball player. He worked several years at Gomillion Marble Works in Union. He loved to fox hunt. Mr. Pinter was a member of Wheatfield Congregational Methodist Church. Survivors include daughter, Gail Alford (Dale) of Philadelphia and grandsons, Jeremy and Jason Alford; daughter, Melissa Smith (Ronnie) of Collinsville and granddaughters, Kristin Smith and Kandace Sanders; son, Bobby G. Pinter of Philadelphia and grandson, Jacob Fontana; eight great-grandchildren, Brice, Brady, Addyson and Jacy Blair Alford, Hailee Smith, Kooper Johnson, Rylee and Baylee Sanders; sister, Lorene Hutchinson of Philadelphia; brothers, Ernest Pinter of Harperville, Wayne Pinter, Wendell Pinter, Tommy Pinter, all of Philadelphia, Marvin Pinter of Brandon and Dorman Pinter of Pearl; and a host of nieces and nephews. Mr. Pinter was preceded in death by his parents, Roman and Myrtle Pinter; son, James Michael Pinter; grandson, Joshua Alford; two brothers, Clayton and Harlon Pinter. Pallbearers are Jeff Pinter, Chad Pinter, Greg Pinter, Craig Pinter, Mark Pinter and Brian Pinter.
