A graveside service for Billy Claud Breazeale will be held Saturday, December 3, 2022, at 12 noon from Cedarlawn Cemetery with Bro. David Richardson officiating. McClain-Hays Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Mr. Breazeale, 92, of Starkville, died Sunday, November 27, 2022, at his home. He was born and raised in Neshoba County, and a graduate of Philadelphia High School where he met his wife of 64 years. After graduation he enlisted in the U. S. Army and served in Germany as a Morse code operator. After his service he married the love of his life, enrolled at Mississippi State University, and graduated with a degree in accounting. He moved to Birmingham where he worked at a financial institution. He later moved to Jackson and adopted Mike; and then received a surprise baby when David was born. He attended Mississippi College of Law at night, graduated, and started his law practice. He later taught law at the universities of Jackson State and Belhaven; and after retirement he became Director of Small Business Development at Jackson State University. He moved to Fairhope, AL, to be close to his wife’s family; and then later moved back to Starkville, MS, until his passing. Billy loved MSU sports, reading, and history. He was a member of Jubilee Shores Methodist Church in Fairhope, AL. He greatly loved his cat, Zero, that passed one day prior to him. He dearly loved his family and will be missed. Survivors include son, Mike Breazeale (Chris Pilgrim) of Starkville, MS, and several nieces, nephews and their families. Mr. Breazeale was preceded in death by his wife, Jacqueline Curry Breazeale; son, David Curry Breazeale; brother, Corky Breazeale of Philadelphia, MS; parents, John Clifford Breazeale and Janie Alexander Johnson.
