Bill Barker

Services for Bill Barker will be held Saturday, May 22, 2021, at 2:00 p.m. from McClain-Hays Chapel with Rev. Charles Davis and Rev. Cliff Barker officiating. Visitation will be Saturday from 11:00 a.m. until time of service at McClain-Hays Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Bluff Springs Cemetery in Kemper County. McClain-Hays Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Mr. Barker, 92, of Kemper County, died Wednesday, May 19, 2021, at his home. He was a native and lifelong resident of Kemper County. He formerly operated Gray’s Grocery in Philadelphia, was employed with the Neshoba County Co-op Service Station and later for Wells-Lamont. Mr. Barker was a member and deacon of Bluff Springs Baptist Church in Kemper County. Survivors include daughter, Verla Barker Watkins of Kemper County; several nieces, nephews, and their families. Preceding Mr. Barker in death are his wife, Myrtis Inell Barker; two infant sons, Terrell and Jerrell Barker; parents, L. E. and Mary Barker; siblings, Ouida Rae Johnson, Dub, Leo and Kevin Barker. Pallbearers are Mike Carter, Tommy Gully, Ken Herrington, G. E. Barker, Jackie Barker, and Glenn Barker. Honorary pallbearers are Jones Brantley and Mike Savell.
