Betty Mims

Memorial service for Betty Mims will be held Sunday, October 23, 2022 at 2:30 p.m. from the First Methodist Church with Rev. Dr. Tommy Jennings and Bro. Michael Hedgepeth officiating. Family will receive friends Sunday, October 23, 2022 beginning at 2 p.m. until service at First Methodist Church. Mrs. Mims, 75, of Philadelphia died Thursday, October 20, 2022. Betty was a native of Winnsboro, TX and a resident of Philadelphia since the mid eighties. Mrs. Mims was a member of First Methodist Church. She served on the Fellowship and Hospitality Committees, UMW and helped start the auction concessions benefitting fundraising for Missions. She especially loved taking care of her husband, daughter and grandchildren. Survivors include her husband, Leon Mims of Philadelphia; daughter, Cathy Deason of Philadelphia; grandson, Alex Deason (Susanna) of Indianola; granddaughter, Aizlynne Deason of Philadelphia; brothers, Gordon Adams (Maureen), John Adams (Gail), Paul Adams (Deborah); several nieces, nephews and their families. Mrs. Mims was preceded in death by her parents, Gordon and Aliene Adams; brothers, David and Van Adams. In lieu of flowers family requests memorials be made to: St Jude Children’s Hospital or your favorite charity.
