Funeral services for Betty Jean Burton will be held Sunday, January 30, 2022, at 2 p.m. from McClain-Hays Chapel with Rev. B. G. Fulton and Rev. Jack Kern officiating. Burial will follow in the Sandtown Cemetery in Neshoba County. Visitation will be held Sunday from 12:00 noon until time of service. McClain-Hays Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Burton, 78, of Philadelphia, died Friday, January 28, 2022, at Neshoba General Hospital. A native of the House Community, she lived most of her life in Neshoba County. She was a homemaker all of her life and enjoyed gardening, cooking, and mostly spending time with her family. Mrs. Burton was a member of Pentecostals of House in Neshoba County. Survivors include daughter, Gina James (Michael) of Union; son, Frankie Ellingburg of Philadelphia; eight grandchildren, Brandon Stubblefield (Sabra) of Union, Dakota Stubblefield, Harley Raymond (Paul), Britney Kirkland (Nathan), Bethany Thames (Ben), Heath Ellingburg (Savanna), Jonathan Budd, and Brad King, all of Philadelphia; nine great-grandchildren and many adopted grands and greats, nieces, and nephews; brother, Jimmie Joyner of Philadelphia. Preceding Mrs. Burton in death were husband, Samuel Clifton Burton; parents, Jody and Pauline Joyner; sister, Rose Tucker; brothers, Louie, Buster, Sonny, and Ronnie Joyner; daughter-in-law, Lori Ellingburg. Pallbearers are Brad King, Dakota Stubblefield, Brandon Stubblefield, Paul Raymond, Michael James, and Heath Ellingburg.
