Funeral services for Betty J. Sheehan Cumberland will be held Sunday, November 28, 2021 at 3 pm at Bloomfield Congregational Methodist Church with Rev. Mike Russell officiating. Burial will follow in Bloomfield Cemetery. Visitation will be held at Bloomfield Congregational Methodist Church Sunday, November 28, 2021 from 2 pm until service time. McClain-Hays Funeral Home is in charge of the services. Mrs. Cumberland, 71 of Meridian, died Thursday, November 25, 2021. She was a native and longtime resident of Lauderdale County. She worked as a Data Entry Clerk for East MS State Hospital for several years before her retirement. She enjoyed spending time with her husband and watching the Braves play. Mrs. Cumberland was a member of Hawkins Memorial UMC of Meridian. Survivors include her husband of 40 years, James Cumberland of Meridian; son, Johnny Russell (Billy) of El Dorado Hills, CA; daughters, Lori Pickett (Charles) of Meridian, Stephanie Stahl of Meridian; step-sons, Jamie and Michael Cumberland of Philadelphia; step-daughters, Ginny Cumberland of Monroe, LA and Laura Cumberland of Philadelphia; grandchildren, Bailey and Lauren Pickett; several step grandchildren; sister, Barbara Mayfield (Wayne) of Meridian; brother-in-law, Rev. Mike Russell of Meridian; a host of nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by parents, Bill and Ira Sheehan; sister, Becky Russell; mother-in-law, Arbela Parker .
