Benny Carman Smith

Services will be held at 1:00 pm Friday, December 20, 2024 from McClain-Hays Chapel. Interment will follow in the Sunrise Cemetery. Bro. Christopher Callicoatte will officiate. Visitation will be from 12 noon until service time on Friday.

Mr. Benny Smith, age 78, of Philadelphia, passed away peacefully on Monday, December 16, 2024, at MS Care Center in Morton.

Originally from the Zephyr Hill community in Neshoba County, Benny dedicated most of his married life to building a loving home in Hinds County. He will be fondly remembered for the warmth and joy he brought to those around him.

Benny is survived by his devoted wife, Dianne Smith; his sister, Dionia Smith Tidmore (Jay); and his brothers, Danny Smith (Nelda) and Ricky Smith (Charlotte). He cherished his numerous nieces and nephews, including Missy Jones (Brian), Mendy Grace (Tim), Timmy Gentry, Chuck Smith (Kathy), David Smith (Kathy), Rachel Spencer (Clay), Matt Prater, M.D., Ken Adcock and Jamie Perry. He was also a loving great-uncle to Tanner Jones, Tucker Jones, Emma Leighton Jones, Clancy Smith, Charlie Smith, Madalyn Smith, Bill Spencer, Kyle Gentry, Korey Gentry, and Krissie Gentry.

Pallbearers are Charles Smith, Charlie Smith, Clay Spencer, Brian Jones, Tanner Jones and Matt Prater.
