Barbara Stokes Young died in Houston, Texas on Friday, the 25th of September 2020. She was 87 years old. Mrs. Young, a native of Preston, Kemper County, Mississippi, was a long-time Houstonian, having first come to the city in the early 1950s to work in the energy industry not long after receiving an Associate’s Degree from East Mississippi Junior College, Scooba, Mississippi. Mrs. Young worked for most of her career in banking and became a Vice President of multiple banks owned and operated by Walter G. Hall of League City, Texas. In retirement, she pursued volunteer work and hobbies. Known for her keen intellect and gracious manner, Mrs. Young avidly followed business and political developments throughout her life and enjoyed vigorous and friendly discussion and debate.
