Barbara N. Thaggard

Graveside services for Barbara N. Thaggard will be held Friday, March 22, 2024 at 9 a.m. from Morrow Cemetery with Bro. Chris Shelton officiating. Visitation will be held Thursday, March 21, 2024 from 5-7 p.m. at McClain-Hays Funeral Home. Ms. Thaggard,92, of Philadelphia died Wednesday, March 20, 2024. Ms. Barbara was born and raised in Neshoba County and attended Dixon Community School and also ECCC. She worked at Milling Shirt Factory in Union and later was the owner of A & B Grocery and Thaggard’s Used Cars. She loved to travel, dance, play dominos and cards with friends. She had been a resident of Atwood since 2023 where she enjoyed the fellowship with friends and the caregivers. She dearly loved her family and will be missed. Ms. Thaggard was a longtime member of Dixon Presbyterian Church. Survivors include daughters, Donna Strickland (Larry) and Linda Tingle (Mike) all of Philadelphia; grandchildren, Tracy Price (Billy) of Forest, Chris Strickland, Jamie Franklin (Michael) and Jessie Hardy (Tyler) all of Philadelphia; great-grandchildren, Will and Zack Price, Slayde, Heidi and Zoe Strickland, Cooper and Carter Franklin, Azlee and Jack Hardy; brother, Larry Nicholson (Charlotte) of Philadelphia; several nieces, nephews and their families. Ms. Thaggard was preceded in death by husband, Alvis Thaggard; son, Jerry Thaggard; brothers, Paul and Bill Nicholson. Pallbearers, Larry Strickland, Mike Tingle, Billy Price, Chris Strickland, Tyler Hardy and Michael Franklin.
