Funeral services for Anthony George will be held Friday, January 19, 2024 at 1 p.m. from McClain-Hays Chapel with Father Bob Goodyear officiating. Burial will follow in Eastlawn Cemetery. Visitation will be held Friday, January 19, 2024 from 11 a.m. until service time at McClain-Hays Funeral Home. Mr. George, 74, of Philadelphia died Sunday, January 14, 2024. Anthony was born and raised in Neshoba County. He attended Bond School and graduated from Neshoba Central High School in 1967 and later graduated ECJC with an Associate’s Degree while also working at US Motors and then retired after 35 years of service at US Motors. He loved to hunt, fish, play cards and dominos, was an avid gardener, especially tomatoes and collards, also loved the horse races at the Neshoba County Fair and was always up for a good time. He dearly loved his family, especially his babies, he was very proud of their accomplishments. Mr. George was a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church and a member of Knights of Columbus. Survivors include wife, Wanda George of Philadelphia; daughters, Daina Skinner (Johnathan), and Chantel Spire (Stephen) all of Philadelphia; grandchildren, Danzsley Skinner, Gabbi Spire, Dustin Skinner (Kelsi) and Zeb Spire; great-grandchildren; Raelyn Skinner, Braxtin Skinner, Coyt Gilmer, Brycen Skinner and Dreven Cox; sisters, Jeanne George of Baton Rouge, LA and Monica George of Philadelphia; sister-in-law, Linda George; mother-in-law, Rubye Copeland; several nieces, nephews, and their families. Mr. George was preceded in death by parents, Jessie and Ethel Lee George; sister, Sharon Buntyn; brother, Gregory George. Pallbearers, Stephen Spire, Johnathan Skinner, Dustin Skinner, Zeb Spire, Lee Cumberland and Derek George. The family would also like to express their gratitude to Quality Hospice for the care and support that was given during this difficult time.
