Services for Annie Sue Monk will be held Friday, May 21, 2021, at 1:00 p.m. from Crossroads Church of God in Sebastopol with Bro. Matt Clark officiating. Visitation will be at the church from 11:00 a.m. until time of service. Burial will follow in Damascus Cemetery. McClain-Hays Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Ms. Monk, 67, of Scott County, died Tuesday, May 18, 2021, at Baptist Hospital in Jackson. Born in Homewood, MS, of Smith County, she grew up in Lake, MS, where she attended school at Lake High School. She worked in the manufacturing industry for several years. She loved to read her Bible daily, paint and sew. Ms. Monk loved her children, especially her grandchildren. She was a member of Crossroads Church of God. Survivors include daughter, Jennifer Keene of Kemper County; son, Bobby Monk, Jr. (Sonya) of Leake County; two grandchildren, Cameron Sones and J. W. Keene; ex-husband, Bobby Monk, Sr., of Scott County; sisters, Shirley Ferguson and Brenda Ferguson; brothers, James Shuler, Paul Shuler, Hubert Shuler, and George Shuler; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and their families. Ms. Monk was preceded in death by her firstborn daughter, Rebecca Sue Monk; mother, Wilma Golden Shuler; father, Hubert Shuler; sisters, Hattie Goodson and Jean Duell; brothers, Bill Shuler, Cooper Shuler, Randy Shuler, and Johnny Shuler. Pallbearers are Julian Sanderson, Dalton Holly, Jerry Higgins, John Strickland, David Rodgers, and David Griffin.
