Albert Butler "Ab" Deweese

Services for Albert Butler “Ab” DeWeese will be held Wednesday, August 29, 2018, at 2:00 p.m. from the DeWeese family home on Poplar Avenue.  Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 28, 2018 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at the DeWeese family home. Interment will follow in Cedarlawn Cemetery.  McClain-Hays Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Mr. DeWeese, 68, died August 25, 2018, at Mississippi Baptist Medical Center in Jackson. Ab was a lifelong resident of Poplar Avenue in Philadelphia.  He graduated from Philadelphia High School and Ole Miss; and was owner of DeWeese Woodworking Company for over 30 years.   He loved good music, telling jokes, the Neshoba County Fair, tennis, swimming, golf; and was known for his signature style.  Ab was a lifelong member of First United Methodist Church.  Survivors include his wife of 41 years, Ann Wiggers DeWeese; sons, Ab DeWeese, Jr. (Kristin), Sam DeWeese (Morgan), Woody DeWeese (Kevin) and Dane DeWeese (M. K.); four granddaughters, Clara, Margot, Ann Porter and Gray DeWeese; sister, Suzan DeWeese Martin; and brother, Ted DeWeese. Mr. DeWeese was preceded in death by his parents, Pete and Sue; sister, Nona DeWeese Kilpatrick; and brother, Fent DeWeese.
