Adlar Deslatte Jr.

Rosary Services for Adlar P. Deslatte, Jr. will be held June 21, 2021 at 3:00 p.m. from McClain-Hays Chapel. Visitation will be from 1PM to 3PM on Monday June 21, 2021 at McClain-Hays. Burial will be at Eastlawn Cemetery in Philadelphia, MS after funeral services located at the corner of Blount Street and Grave Ave. Brother Sherril Orgeron, Jr. and Father Darniss Selvanaykan will officiate. Adlar was preceded in death by his parents, Adlar Deslatte, Sr. and Lezemia Dupuy Deslatte; and his brother, Florian Deslatte. Survivors included are his wife of 61 years, Patricia Pregeant Deslatte; two daughters, Sherrie Deslatte Cheramie, Suzanne Deslatte Sibille; one son, David P. Deslatte; sister, Onedia Lebourgeois; seven loving grandchildren and four great grandchildren; many loved nieces and nephews. Condolences can be made at www.mcclainhays.com Adlar was born in Whitehall, LA in 1939 and raised on a strawberry farm owned by his parents. He was valedictorian of his high school in Maurepas, LA and played on the basketball team; Adlar was the Beta Club President and was voted most likely to succeed. He received a business degree from the University of Southeastern, Hammond, LA in 1963. He served 7 years in the U.S. Army Reserves. He worked as an accountant for Boeing Aircraft in New Orleans. He was an office manager for a shipyard for 27 years. He married his high school sweetheart, Patsy, and they have been wed 61 years. They owned and managed Deslatte's Apartment Complexes for 50 years. Adlar will be loved forever and missed whole heartily as a husband, father, brother, grandfather, great grandfather and friend.
