CHRIS VOWELL Mr. Burkes, 70, of Philadelphia, died Monday, October 25, 2010 at his residence.   He was a native and long time resident of Neshoba County.  He was retired from Atlantic Richfield Corp. where he worked for a number of years.  Mr. Burkes was Baptist by faith.  He served in the U.S. Army.   Survivors include sons, Charles "Chuck" Burkes and his wife, Annette of Norman, OK, Mike Burkes of Philadelphia, and Todd Burkes and his wife, Brenna of Castle Rock, CO; 11 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; brothers, Winford Burkes of Philadelphia, Wayne Burkes of Brandon, Wousie Burkes of Brandon, and Johnny Burkes of Gonzales, LA; and a host of nieces and nephews.   Mr. Burkes was preceded in death by brothers, Willard Burkes and Billy Joe Burkes.
