STEVE CRAFT Mr. Eakes, 71, died Sunday, October 24, 2010 at his residence. He was a native and lifelong resident of the East Neshoba Community in Neshoba County. Mr. Eakes was a member of McLain Chapel Church. He had worked for the county unit system for 22 years. He was a cattle farmer and logger. Survivors include his wife, Mavis Eakes; daughters, Donna Hanna, Melissa Lewis and her husband, Frannie; son, Dobie Eakes and his wife, Raye Carol, all of Philadelphia; granddaughters, Hayley Snuggs, Olivia Jackson, Anna Lewis and Clover Eakes; grandsons, Will Williamson, Cody Eakes, Colton Eakes and Coleman Eakes; great-grandchildren, Dakota Williamson and Harley Williamson; sisters, Ann Robertson of Mobile, AL, Rachel Eakes of Detroit, MI, Jo Murle Drury of Noxapater, Linda Bell and Karen Sikes, both of Philadelphia and brother, Larry Eakes of Philadelphia. He was preceded in death by his parents, Coleman and Luva Eakes.
