He was a native and long time resident of Neshoba County.  He was a retired technician for AT&T.  Mr. Matthews served in the U.S. Air Force.  He was preceded in death by his father, C.E. Corris Matthews; and sister, Linda Matthews.  Survivors include his wife, Brenda Matthews of Philadelphia; step-daughter, Kim Price and her husband, Cecil of Philadelphia; step-grandchildren, William Bass Price and Cecily Kate Price; mother, Ruby Matthews of Philadelphia; sisters, Sandra Turner of Panama City, FL, Rebecca Belk, Mary Adkins, and Martha Cumberland all of Philadelphia; brother, Corris "Buddy" Matthews of Jackson; and numerous nieces, nephews, and their families.
