DAVID RICHARDSON Mr. Guin, 88, of Starkville, died Sunday, August 22, 2010 at Oktibbeha Regional Medical Center in Starkville. He was a native of Millport, AL and had lived in Starkville for the past 18 years. He was retired from Bell South Telephone Company after 40 years of service. Mr. Guin was a member of First Baptist Church in Columbus. He served in WWII 22nd Infantry, 4th Division in France and Germany and received the American Defense Service Medal, EAMETO Medal, Purple Heart with one OLC, and Bronze Arrowhead. He was a 32nd Degree Mason and a member of the Scottish Rite. Survivors include wife of almost 64 years, Ellen Warren Guin of Starkville; daughter, Dr. Mary Linda Guin of Starkville; sons, Hughdolf Guin, Jr.(Elvie) of Columbus and Boyce Warren Guin (Mary) of Starkville; granddaughters, Amy Lemonds (Chip) of Columbus and Paige Guthrie (Cody) of Nashville, TN; great-granddaughters, Allison Lemonds and Katelyn Lemonds of Columbus; brother, Wayne Guin (Lois) of Brooksville, FL; sisters, Juanita Kipping of Memphis, TN and Lucille Youngblood (Walton) of Madison; and a host of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Almos Bascomb and Wilma Shaw Guin formerly of Millport, AL; and brothers, Woodford Guin and Bedford Guin of Natchez.
