Smith, 62, of Scooba, died Wednesday, August 18, 2010 at Rush Foundation Hospital in Meridian.He was a native of Broken Bow, OK and had been a resident of Scooba for the past 20 years. He was owner of Robert Smith Dozer Service where he did site prep work for timber companies. Mr. Smith was a member of First United Methodist Church in Geiger, AL. He served in the U. S. Navy on the USS Ranger during the Vietnam War. He was preceded in death by his parents, Edmond and Wanda Smith; and brother, Dennis Smith. Survivors include his wife, Anne Smith of Scooba; sons, Todd Smith and his wife, Debbie of Broken Bow, OK and Robert "Rob" Smith and his wife, Cindy of Bayou La Batre, AL; daughter, Debbie Smith of Starkville; step-son, James Parks of Idabel, OK; step-daughter, Lorinda Heathman and her husband, Mike of Idabel, OK; 12 grandchildren; two great grandchildren; brothers, Michael Smith of Scooba, Jerril Smith of Conway, AR, and Mark Smith of Norco, CA; and several nieces, nephews, faithful employees, and friends.
