KING'S FAMILY REQUEST THAT DONATIONS BE MADE TO FIRST UNITED METHODIST CHURCH MUSIC OR YOUTH MINISTRIES OR YOUR FAVORITE CHARITY Mr. King, 71, of Philadelphia, died Wednesday, August 4, 2010 at Neshoba County Nursing Home in Philadelphia. He was a native of Leake County and a long time resident of Philadelphia. He was a 1956 graduate of Philadelphia High School and received a bachelor's degree from Mississippi State University. Mr. King formerly worked for Commercial Union Assurance Company in Jackson and Crawley Law Firm in Louisville as an insurance investigator. He was a member of First United Methodist Church in Philadelphia where he was a long time choir member and youth leader. He was an avid sports fan of all Mississippi State University athletics. Mr. King served in the U.S. Army 82nd Airborne in Europe. Survivors include his wife of 47 years, Shelley King of Philadelphia; daughters, Jo Carol King of Philadelphia, and Susanna King Brooks and her husband, Hayes of Starkville; sons, Phil King and his wife, Sonya of Murfreesboro, TN, and John King and his wife, Leslie of Philadelphia; grandchildren, Garrett King, Ashleigh King, and Simmons Brooks; and brother, Ricky King and his wife, Donna of Chattanooga, TN.
