DAN HOWARD Mr. Temple, 87, of Philadelphia, MS passed away on Monday, March 1, 2010 at MS State Veterans Home in Kosciusko, MS.    He was born in Moscow, MS and was a life-long resident of Philadelphia, MS.  He was a WWII veteran who served in the European Theatre of Operations in the 67th Armored Infantry Battalion.  He was stationed in Morocco, Algeria, and Northern Africa in 1942 and then served in the Campaign in Sicily, Italy, the Invasion of Normandy and the Campaigns in Northern France.  He was awarded the American Defense Service Medal, the European Campaign Medal and he was recognized for contributing to The Liberation of France during the Normandy Landing in 1944-45. He was a member of VFW and the American Legion.   Mr. Temple worked as a chief engineer for Midland Enterprises for 25 years before retiring.  During his retirement he enjoyed life while hunting, fishing, and making jigs. Brim & crappie were his favorite.     He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Mary Temple of Philadelphia; children, Wanda & Rayburn Waddell of Philadelphia and Keith & Debra Temple of Canton; and 6 grandchildren, Temple & Todd Versteegh of Jackson; Ray & AngeliqueWaddell of Dallas, TX, Tiffany Temple and Carly Temple both of Canton.   He was preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Mae Temple; and sister, Lorene Sullivan.
