M.MCCLAIN-HAYS FUNERAL HOMEINTERMENT: HOLY ROSARY CEMETERYIN THETUCKER COMMUNITY OF NESHOBA COUNTYOFFICIATING: FATHER BOB GOODYEAR Mr. Phillip Martin, 83, of Choctaw, died Thursday, February 4, 2010 at St. Dominic Hospital in Jackson. He was a native of the Tucker Community of Neshoba County and a long time resident of the Pearl River Community. He served as tribal chief from 1979 until 2007. Mr. Martin was preceded in death by his parents, Willie and Mary Steve Martin; grandsons, James Nicholas Shumake and Kevin Jermane Shumake; brothers, Raymond, Edmund, Harry, and Anthony Martin; and sister, Annie Mae Tubby. Survivors include his wife, Bonnie K. Martin of Choctaw; daughters, Deborah Lewis and Patricia Gibson both of Choctaw; grandchildren, Winter K. Lewis of Choctaw, Graham Lewis of Choctaw, Megan M. Gibson of Hattiesburg, Brittany A. Gibson of Choctaw, and Nigel Wayne Gibson of Choctaw; great-grandchildren, Mahalia S. Gibson of Hattiesburg, Imearia S. Davis of Hattiesburg, Iverson J. Wallace of Choctaw, and Jamearan M. Wallace of Choctaw; and several nieces, nephews and their families.
