SERVICES:  WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 3, 201011:00 A. M.    ANTIOCH BAPTIST CHURCH VISITATION:  TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 2, 20105:00 - 8:00 P. M.  @ MCCLAIN-HAYS FUNERAL HOME AND @ ANTIOCH BAPTIST CHURCH 30 MINUTES PRIOR TO SERVICE ON WEDNESDAYINTERMENT:  ANTIOCH CEMETERYOFFICIATING:  REV. RAY SPENCE Mr. Carlton Smith, 79, of Collinsville, died Sunday, January 31, 2010 at his home.   He was a native and long time resident of the Mt. Nebo Community of Newton County.  He owned and operated C. Smith Grocery on Hwy 19 for 20 years and White Auto Store in Newton from 1974 until 1989.  Mr. Smith was a member of Antioch Baptist Church.  He served in the U.S. Navy.   He was preceded in death by a brother, Thomas Marzine Smith.   Survivors include his wife, Mary Ann Smith of Collinsville; sons, Larry Cooper Smith and his wife, Tammy of Collinsville and Richard "Ricky" Smith and his wife, Wilma of Union; grandchildren, Nikki Smith, Christopher Smith, Emily Sandberg, Shannon Smith, and Richard Smith; great-grandchildren, Drew, Reed, and Ryan Sandberg; and sister, Caroldine Herrington of Collinsville.
