INTERMENT: ODD FELLOWS CEMETERY MACON, MS Mr. Harold Kitchens, 72, of Scooba, died Thursday, November 19, 2009 at Jeff Anderson Regional Medical Center in Meridian. He was a native of Noxubee County and lived in Kemper County most of his life. He was owner and operator of Auto Parts Center in DeKalb. Mr. Kitchens served on the school board in Kemper County for 16 years and was announcer for West Kemper High School football games. He was a member of Binnvsille United Methodist Church in Scooba where he served on the pastor-parish relations committee and on the board of trustees. Mr. Kitchens was a certified game warden. He was an avid outdoors man and MSU supporter and fan. He served in the Army National Guard of Mississippi. Mr. Kitchens was preceded in death by his parents, Eddie Gray Kitchens and Henri Sparkman Kitchens; sister, Lois Fleetwood; and niece, Robbie Lois Goodwin. Survivors include his wife, Mary Lou Kitchens of Scooba; daughter, Jennifer Hull and husband, Mike of DeKalb; sons, Daniel G. Kitchens and wife, Heather of McKinney, TX, and Kenneth Kitchens and wife, Dana of Porterville; step-daughters, Debra Majure and husband, Fred of DeKalb, Becky Jackson and husband, George of Laurel, and Phyllis Huffmaster and husband, Raymond of Lauderdale; step-sons, Wally Griffin and wife, Ginger of Patterson, LA, Gregg Griffin and wife, Cherri of Philadelphia, and Jimmy Jordan and wife, Janice of Columbus; 20 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; sister, Kathleen Jernigan and husband, Marion of Mashulaville; and special friend and co-worker, Janie Tisdale of DeKalb. Pallbearers: Michael Griffin, Tyler Griffin, Brandon Griffin, Adam Griffin, Michael Hull, Max Griffin, Richard Hall, and Paul Stephens.
