SCOTT BOATNER REV. LAVON BOATNER Rev. Peebles, 85, of Philadelphia, died Friday, September 8, 2017, at Neshoba County General Hospital in Philadelphia. He was a native and lifelong resident of Philadelphia/Neshoba County. He was retired owner/butcher of Peebles Slaughter House. Rev. Peebles was a longtime member and former pastor of West Philadelphia Baptist Church and several other churches. He was a former member of Philadelphia Masonic Lodge and was a veteran of the U. S. Army serving during the Korean Conflict. Survivors include his wife of 63 years , Earline Edwards Peebles of Philadelphia; daughters, Martha (Ronnie) Lewis of Philadelphia and Mitze (Michael) Evans of Starkville; sons, Ricky Allen (Sarah) Peebles of Booneville and Mark (Stephanie) Peebles of Philadelphia; brother, Johnny (Darlene) Peebles of Philadelphia; stepsister, Wanda Holt of Urbana, IL; grandchildren, Erica and Rachel Peebles, Justin Allen (Jess) Lewis, Benjamin Darby (Erin) Evans, Daniel Darby (Kate) Evans, Kyle and Maggie Peebles; great-grandchildren, Chase Lewis, Cody Allen Lewis, Jaid Lewis and John David Lewis; numerous nieces, nephews, and their families. He was preceded in death by his parents, William Joseph (Peggie) Peebles Jr. and Claudia Peebles; son, Michael O. Peebles; sister, Martha Jo Peebles; and stepmother, Hazel Peebles. Pallbearers will be Justin Lewis, Benjamin Evans, Daniel Evans, Kyle Peebles, Preston Anderson, Chase Lewis, Cody Allen Lewis and Anthony Steele. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to the Disabled Veterans or your favorite charity.
