He was a native of the North Bend community in Neshoba County. He was a veteran of the U. S. Marine Corps. He met and married his wife of 18 years while he was stationed in Washington and sealed his marriage in the Salt Lake City Mormon Temple. He worked for Owens-Illinois Glass Company for 35 years and retired to Las Vegas where he lived for the past 20 years. Mr. Copeland was a member of The Church Of Jesus Christ Of Latter Day Saints (Mormons). Survivors include his daughters, Sherry Erb of Rexburg, ID, Jane Seamons (Sherwin) of Mendon, UT, Sandy Pitcher (Kelly) of Smithfield, UT, Celia Dolan (Robert) of Gold Beach, OR; step-daughter, Heidi Lund of Las Vegas, NV; 22 grandchildren; 56 great-grandchildren; sister, Connie Frazier McGeehee (David) of West, MS; brothers, James O. Copeland of Philadelphia, Henry Ethel Copeland, Jr. (Juaquita Alexander) of Preston, MS; sister-in-law, Rubye Burrage Copeland of Philadelphia; 18 nieces and nephews.Mr. Copeland was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Jo Gardenhire Copeland; daughter, Lynn Copeland; one grandchild; one great grandchild; brother, Willie W. Copeland; sister, Sarah Johnson Gray; one sister-in-law and one son-in-law.
