ALLEN HERRINGTON Mrs. Collins, 89, passed away Friday, July 28, 2018 in Neshoba County General Hospital. She was born Johnnie Lou Townsend in the Coldwater community of Neshoba County where she lived most of her life. At age 16, she married Alfred Jolly and was married to Alfred until his death in 1992. Several years later she married Frank Collins and remained married to Frank until his death in 2006. Mrs. Collins was a longtime faithful member of Fellowship Baptist Church and loved her Lord and her church. A couple of years ago, due to failing health, she could not often attend church anymore. She still worshipped at home. Her favorite television shows were preaching and singing. Johnnie Lou loved life and always found enjoyment in everything she did. She worked at Wells Lamont for some 50 years. According to her co-workers, she even made sewing gloves fun. Mrs. Jolly was survived by three children, Gary (Brenda) Jolly of Friendship, TN, Cheryl Lancaster of Philadelphia, MS and Eddie (Debbie) Jolly of Philadelphia, MS; six grandchildren, Todd (Nikki) Jolly, Justin (Charlotte) Jolly, Shonta (Jeff) Osborne, Dana (Ann) Lancaster, Clayton (Laura) Lancaster and Tracy (Harold ) Blocker; nine great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren; greatest of all, a very special nephew and caregiver (whom she loved dearly), Henry Bulman. She was preceded in death by her parents, John Henry and Martha Hogue Townsend; husbands, Rev. Johnny Alfred Jolly and Frank Collins; brothers, Roy, Pete, Willis, Carl and A.C. Townsend; sisters, Mary Sutton, Dorothy Russell, Pat Salter, Ola Clark and Opal Wright. Grandsons and great-grandsons will serve as pallbearers. A very special “Thank You” to Dr. Todd Willis, the staff of Neshoba County Hospital and the Quality Hospice staff. You were all great! Friends may send flowers, donate to Gideons International or Fellowship Baptist Church Building Fund.
