He was a native and lifelong resident of Neshoba County and a farmer all his life. He was owner/operator of S & S Trucking. He also worked for the Neshoba County barn for several years and retired from B. R. Smith Enterprises. Survivors include his wife, Mary Sue Stokes of Philadelphia; daughter, Danyelle Murphey (Brian) of Philadelphia; son, Matthew Tyler Stokes (Jessica) of Philadelphia; step-sons, Ronald Collins and Jacob Collins, both of Philadelphia; 13 grandchildren, Bayleigh Elissa Watkins and A. J. Watkins, Kody Drake Stokes, Colton Barrett Stokes and Aubree’ Layne Stokes, Ethan and Taylor Walker, Tyler Bray, Kady Hull, Hunter, Hayden, Haleigh and Harleigh Collins; sister, Aletha Stokes (James) McKinion of Starkville; brother, Ray (Lynn) Stokes of Wiggins; a host of nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Hoy and Minneola Stokes
