DAN HOWARDMr. Ray Boswell, age 89, died at his home in Philadelphia, MS, on Thursday, June 22, 2017. Ray was born April 28, 1928, in Philadelphia, MS. He married Jackie Hardy Boswell of Philadelphia. They lived for many years in Union, MS where they brought up their 2 daughters. Ray was a butcher and meat market manager for over 40 years. He was a United States Army Veteran where he served in the Korean Conflict. Most importantly, Ray was a devoted Christian man who loved his Savior and family very deeply. He always put the needs of his family and friends above his own. He was faithful in his Christian walk and always attended church services and Sunday School classes. He was currently an active member of First Baptist Church in Philadelphia, but he was formerly a member of First Baptist Church in Union, MS and Neshoba Baptist Church. Survivors include his daughter, Pam Phillips (Charley) of Philadelphia; grandchildren, Angel Fason (Darrell), Kylie Whitehead (Ben), Jessica Swindle (Jeremy), Heather Parker (Justin); great-grandchildren, Brady Stephenson, Dylan Swindle, Hayes Fason, Mason Whitehead, Bryant Swindle, Hardy Ray Fason, Chad Parker, John Parker, Macie Rae Parker, Noah Parker and Izzy Grace Whitehead. Ray was preceded in death by his wife, Jackie Boswell; his daughter, Dawn Palmer; his parents, and his sisters.
