Services for Mr. Charley Hollis "Chuck" Ward were held Monday, September 14, 2009 @ 11 AM from the chapel of McClain-Hays Funeral Home. Interment will be in the Coy Methodist Cemetery with Rev. Jimmy Townsend and Rev. Dennis Duvall officiating. Mr. Ward, 84, died Saturday, September 12, 2009 at Mississippi State Veterans Home in Kosciusko. He was a native of Neshoba County and was a longtime resident of Chalmette, Louisiana and later moved back to Neshoba County 19 years ago. He was retired from Campbell 66 Freight Company. Mr. Ward was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served during World War II. He was a member of Center Hill Baptist Church. Mr. Ward was preceded in death by his grandson, Sean Ward; his first wife, Gladys Stokes Ward and his second wife, Dean Thrash Ward. Survivors include his son, Charley Ward of Wesson; stepdaughters, Barbara Holyfield of Meridian, Shirley Smith, Connie Warren and Annette Watkins, all of Philadelphia; 10 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; sisters, Lora Joyner and Flora Joyner, both of Union; numerous nieces, nephews and their families. Pallbearers were Drew Watkins, Gerald Ward, John Ward, Jimmy Ward, Wesley Martin and Ben Warren.
