GLYNN POPEMr. Owens, 76, of Brandon, died Friday, May 12, 2017, at his home.He was a native of Eula, TX, and longtime resident of Hurst, TX.  He lived in Brandon for the past 21 years and retired from the U. S. Customs Service where he worked as an Import Specialist.  He was a graduate of McMurry College in Abilene, TX, where he received his B. S. degree in Education.  Mr. Owens was a member of Victory Congregational Methodist Church in Florence, MS. Survivors include his wife, Liz Owens of Brandon; daughters, Melanie Owens Grissett of Brandon, Susan Owens of Mesquite, TX; step-grandchild, James Whitworth; numerous nieces and nephews and their families.  Mr. Owens was preceded in death by his step-grandson, Stevie Whitworth; parents, Dave and Goldie Owens; brother, Wagley Owens, Jr.; and sister, Jean Preston.
